Dang! With a title like Yaadein, a nice star cast, good music, one would think that Subhash Ghai is making a blockbuster. Lackluster is the REAL word. The movie is not a good movie. There are too many shifts in the plot, boring dialogues, and most importantly, dull screenplay. The only thing to praise is the scenery, however, we have seen it many times before. The story, as I said, has too many shifts. It started as a struggle of a single father, then goes to the weddings of his daughter, then moves on to the love story between his godson and daughter, and then there is the typical man engaged to another girl, then there is a fight for money, then you the dullest ending you will ever see which is overdone. Does the movie have positives? Yes, the scenery is good. And Jackie Shroff is the only positive thing in the movie. His scene at his wife's death scene was amazing. Truly an awesome actor. Hrithik Roshan is quite bad, but he tries hard to save his role from going down the drain. Kareena Kapoor is mediocre as well. What ever happened to their excellent roles in Fiza and Refugee? The biggest disappointment comes in Amrish Puri who gives the most overacted performance ever. And the new cast doesn't help the movie one bit, and make it more annoying. The final positive thing were the songs. A good soundtrack was wasted. And the choreography was nothing more than mediocre. Chamakti Shaam Hai was danced well, but too dull in picturization and the weird clothing. Jub Dil Miley is terrible, and the "spirit finger" dancing goes from funny to stupid. Chanda Taare and Yaadein Yaad Aati Hain (Memories Come Back) were good songs, but only interesting to watch if you want to go sight seeing in London. Aye Dil Dil Ki Duniya Mein (A Heart in this World) was the only boring song, but its picturization doesn't help at all. Eli Re Eli was the best, being good, well clothed, and a hummable tune to make it a hit song. The movie should not be watched. It is terrible.[收起部分]
